About Me

Hi, I’m Claire and a married mum of two wonderful children aged five and eight. We are blessed to live in beautiful, sunny Wales and love being outdoors.Β We love cooking and crafting and most importantly having fun!

Like a lot of families these days, we are on a tight budget so I am pretty good at being thrifty! All of the activities, crafts and makes I do with my kids are with materials I already have in our home, or are cheap to buy. I believe you don’t have to spend a lot of money to have fun with your kids. ( Just think how many times expensive toys are thrown aside only to be replaced by the cardboard box packaging)!

I’m hoping to share some of our lovely, family makes with you and ideas to inspire you. We love using Pinterest for inspiration and trying our hands at lots of different, creative activities (with varying results)! I truly feel that the end result of creating something is only part of the overall satisfaction. My children especially enjoy the thinking, designing and making processes of their creativity. There is nothing worse than a child drawing or creating something that they have put their heart and soul into, only for someone to shoot their confidence and pride down in an instant, with an ill thought out comment such as “What is it meant to be?” or “That is the wrong colour….” We should nurture everyone’s creativity regardless of green skies and purple trees……….

Follow us to keep up to date with craft ideas and our parenting journey. Thanks for visiting!

  2. Hi Claire! Thanks for stopping by my blog and helped me find your creative blog. I totally agree with your concept of having fun with kids without spending a lot. Kids need our time and attention not gadgets. Love the picture of painted feet πŸ™‚

  3. What a sweet blog, Claire! And what lovely ideas to keep the little ones entertained… I especially loved the popsicle stick dolls. My youngest grandson is 6 and is forever in search of a project that involves tape, paint, markers and anything resembling a pipecleaner. This will fit the bill very nicely, indeed! Well done… and thanks for the follow! It is much appreciated… xx Mother Hen

      1. Your blog is a delight! As for where you live, it’s a fabulous stretch of coast. I grew up in Southport and spent many of my days at the sand dunes and pine woods. I adore being by the sea. hope you have a wonderful summer with your children. πŸ™‚
